MOVIES

I do not go to the movies anymore. Why?

1.  There haven't been any good ones in the last 10 years.
2.  I am not paying $12 to watch a movie.
3.  A medium Coke is a small Coke, a large Coke is a medium Coke, and how expensive is it to make popcorn?
4..  If I have to go to the bathroom, I end up missing a real important part.
and
5.  I don't need to hear people's conversations and have my chair bumped every 10 minutes from the person behind me.

Here are some great movies to watch in your own environment.
They are all great.
Pick the kind you like, you'll thank me later.

The 70s

Memories

Shrinky dinks, Jimmy Carter, KISS, Disco, Classic Rock, Chevy Nova, Starskey and Hutch, Technicolor, Rotary Phones, Ford Pinto, etc., etc.

Being born and spending my first years in the 70s was very important to me.

This is when it all started, like many of my compadres.  Whether it was the music, the styles, the TV shows or anything else, we will surely not forget these times.  To each generation it stands for something different, to me growing up, to others becoming parents, to others moving to new locations.  This happens every generation, for different people, different experiences.

Questions

Whatever happened to that company Rent a Wreck?  I thought that was the worst name of a company and what kind of message were they sending out.  Who would want to rent a car that was a piece of junk?

Whatever happened to the Indian that would cry when he saw pollution in those 1970's commercial advertisements?

Movies that I recommend watching

A Clockwork Orange

A Clockwork Orange (1971) R
In this Stanley Kubrick classic based on Anthony Burgess's novel, teenage miscreant Alex DeLarge (Malcolm McDowell) wanders aimlessly amid a bleak, futuristic urban landscape, drinking drugged milk and listening to Beethoven with his fellow "droogs." But he also spends his time stealing, raping and beating innocent people in nihilistic orgies of violence, all in an attempt to get his nightly kicks.

Saturday Night Fever

Saturday Night Fever (1977) R
Director John Badham's musical ushered in the disco craze with the character of 19-year-old Tony Manero (John Travolta). By day, Tony's a paint store clerk, but at night he's a polyester-clad stallion who rules a Brooklyn nightspot with his partner, Stephanie (Karen Lynn Gorney). Although the plot addresses socioeconomic themes, it's the Bee Gees soundtrack and Travolta's strutting, Oscar-nominated moves that have made the film iconic.
